How do I change the incorrect spelling of my registed last name?
Please check with the county or state or place where your name is registered.
Reply:There is a legal procedure to fix your last name.
You have to do it just as you would if you were actually changing your name. Check with your city/town hall.

Reply:From experience it is a pain...and it will cost you money. I am in California. My name on my son's birth certificate is wrong... maiden name twice. I went to the county registrars office...filled out a form. Then had to send to State office. Send $. Then had to go back to county and re-file his birth certificate with more $.
