DO you regret the name you gave your child? or the spelling of the name you gave your child?

No. But that's because I took GREAT care in choosing a name that not only my husband and I loved, but wouldn't have negative effects on our little girl.

The reality is that no matter what name you choose, someone is going to hate it. I'm really open to names and other people's styles of naming. I just don't like when people go way too out there (Poppy Honey... come on now) or spell names unrecognizable or kre8ive (Riley and Rylee... okay, but Ryeleigh...uh...too much, the poor kid will be spelling it forever).

DO you regret the name you gave your child? or the spelling of the name you gave your child?
I do. My younger son's middle name is David. Although it is a fine name, I wanted to name him Keldon after my dad, and was outvoted. Keldon is a wonderful name, and only men named after my dad have it. (as far as I know.)

I regret not throwing a fit.

My older son has a fine name, Daniel Arthur.
Reply:Our son is Joseph, so definitely don't have any regrets there. My friend Malessa HATES the way her mom spelled her name. Everyone says Ma-lesa instead of Melissa which is how it's supposed to be said, even though people are saying it exactly how it looks. Spelling is so important.
Reply:Yes, I regret naming my oldest boy after his father. I did not want to do it in the first place, but gave in to the pressure (and fear) from my now ex-husband. To this day, my son has gone by a nickname completely unrelated to his given name and if I can ever track down my ex for his signature, I will have my sons name legally changed.
Reply:no. generally nobody does that. They will think a lot before they take a right decision
Reply:No, not at all. I named my son Jevon %26amp; I love his name:)

I love different names:)
Reply:not really i named him gabriel gonzalez
Reply:How about Michaela(whereas most nursing "experts" at the hospital where she was born insisted on spelling it "Mikayla" to appease the county health department!)?

Or my son:named Hathaway Sepulveda, because even though now he's a teenager, when he was little, he looked like '70's child actor Noah Hathaway, and Sepulveda Boulevard, because of the hotel in Torrance that he was conceived in!

Surprised?
Reply:No,not at all..and I have 4 kids...Dillon Thomas, Paige Nicole,Troy Denton %26amp; Austin Lee...not one complaint out of them as far as their names go either..=)
Reply:No I love my children's names. I just wish I could have more kids to use the other names that I like as well:)
Reply:Up until now, I didn't like it. At 40 +, it finally stuck on me and now I like it.

crazy.
Reply:nope and i even spelled my sons name different. Lukas instead of Lucas
Reply:I don't regret giving my son the name Kaden, but it has been used a lot in the last few years ( # 13 for boys in 2006)... Whether spelled Kaden, Kayden, Caden... there are a lot of them... My best friends has a step son named Kayden... I have had this name picked out since I was 14 though (my best friend (kaden) died in a fire).I was Set on naming my first son Kaden James, then conveniently I married someone whose middle name is James and his dad's middle name is James as well, so at least I am keeping it in the family. Next time I will find a name that isn't so popular...
Reply:No, of course not! My children have beautiful names!

Carter Gabriel

Carson Brianna

Noah Matthew

Emma Rose

Addison Riley

The reason that we named our children that is because we loved those names.
Reply:Nope
Reply:Not at all. Both she and I love her name because it's a classic yet different at the same time. Her name is Ccelsie (like Chelsea). She was born in 1998 and I didn't want her name so associated with Chelsea Clinton. I'm a big fan of alternate, PHONETIC (not Kriy8yive) spellings, so that's the spelling I picked. I've never really had any problems with people not knowing how to pronounce it, if you just really look at it, it's the same CH sound as in cappuCCino, and Elsie. Who can't pronounce Elsie?!?
Reply:i named my child Napoleon and I aint changing it.
Reply:Nope, you should think of that before you name your child because they have to live with that the rest of their lives.
Reply:No, my daughter is Savanna, and it is unique and spelled differently than the city of Savannah, which I did on purpose to name her like the African Savanna. And my son is Noah. Not unusual, but not heard too often. It is a strong male name.
