Incorrect spelling of middle name on airline tickets?

recently i purchased aireline tickets and my middle name has a typo in it.

it is spelt jane instead of jayne like on my passport.

i asked the travel agent to change it but one of the flights has a waitlist and in order to renew the name we have to cancel it first which is pretty damn stupid.

and theres no garantee id get that spot

and im going with a group of ppl so i dont wanna take that risk

is customs really strict on spelling of middle names?

Incorrect spelling of middle name on airline tickets?
I don't think so. I've traveled before with a misspelling of my last name (they wrote it with a z instead of an s). I'm assuming that unless the customs person you end up going through is having a bad day and just wants to pick a fight they won't really care. I say keep the one you have and enjoy your trip.
Reply:yah..they are..better change it..
Reply:I booked a flight for someone and I put Mr instead of Mrs and there was no problems
Reply:This was in Europe that this happened. My girlfriend was traveling with her baby and didn't notice that the name was misspelled on her son's ticket when it was issued. When she got over to the gate, they made her not only get a new ticket but made her pay for a completely new one.

You need to contact the airline directly and ask what their policy is on this.
Reply:The airline is your problem. Call them and find out.

On customs. It depends where you travel. If the country requires you to have a return ticket, then yes it matters, but if not then customs could care less.
