Someone changed the spelling of my last name on my yahoo. How do I change it to be correct?

When I signed up for yahoo I put my name in correctly. Well, someone noticed yesterday that it was not correct. So, someone changed it from what I had typed. How do I make the correction

I strongly doubt that anybody got into your account and change your last name. If somebody actually stole your account, you would not be able to use it. If you have concerns about the security of your account, you need to change your password immediately. Make sure that you create a secure password that is at least eight characters long, uses numbers, capital letters, lowercase letters, and special characters.





Okay, let's also talk about privacy. You should never create a Yahoo ID that tells what your last name is. I would either create a new Yahoo ID, or at the very least, create a new public profile under that Yahoo ID and use that to chat with.





EDIT/CREATE NEW PUBLIC PROFILE


You can create 6 new public profiles (aliases or sub accounts) for each Yahoo ID. On your Friend's List click on Messenger at the top and then My Profiles. Then a box will appear...click on Create/Edit Profiles and on the yahoo member directory page sign in at the top and then you can click on View My Profiles on the right This will take you to a new window and you can click the button that says Create New Public Profile.





Make sure to save your changes once you do. Now exit yahoo messenger and log back in. When you go to join a room you will see a drop down menu by your name with your profile names for that main account and you can chat with one of those new profile names. You can also choose the profile name for IM windows too.
