What's the best way of spelling this name?

OK, I asked this before but I didn't explain it clearly enough, so I'm going to ask again (thanks to those of you who understood and gave an answer already)...

How would you spell the name that is pronounced Tee-ann-uh (like you'd say Joanna, but with a 'Tee' sound)

There seem to be a few different ways of spelling this name and also different pronunciations, such as Tee-ann-uh, Tee-ar-na and Tee-on-ah.

I'm looking for the spelling that you think suits the Tee-ANN-uh pronunciation the best.

What's the best way of spelling this name?
That's a little tough, but I would say Tianna. My name is Briana (pronounced Bree-ann-uh) and people mispronounce it (as Bree-on-uh) and misspell it (as Brianna) all the time, so I would suggest using two N's. Good luck!
Reply:People will always pronounce names wrong, but with that spelling it should cut the number down...thank you! Report Abuse

My daughter's name is Mattea (Mah TEE Ah), so I thought having "ea" might work with this name too. However you spell it, it will be beautiful - Best wishes!

Reply:i use to know a girl named that and i believe she spelled it tianna
Reply:Tiana, Teana. I think Tiana would be the best because the i is pronounced like an E. There will be some confusion of calling the person tie-an-uh but she can correct it or Teana would provide no confusion. Tyanna is also a very pretty way of spelling it. It's a unique name so there will always be a little confusion of Tie-anna or Tee-anna but it's pretty so it just depends how you'd like it spelled.

Most people pronounce Anna (aa-nuh) with two N's.

And Ana (ah-nuh) with one N.

So my guess would try to include two n's in her name. (if your going for the Hannah, Savanna, Joanna- sound.)

TeAnnah is my favorite spelling.
