What do you think of the name Esmae for a girl? (Its pronounced like Esme but different spelling)?

I love the name.





Although I do not like that spelling





I prefer Esmee

Love the name, hate the spelling.


I'd advise going with Esme or Esmée.


Esmae looks like pupae... That's what immediately sprang to my mind, anyway.





Edit: Esme is pronounced es-may, yes.


Esme is the spelling that is the most common when people use the name.


Esmé is the French masculine version, with Esmée the feminine.


I love the spelling of Esmée, because French names always seem so classy and beautiful, to me.


Ignore the Twilight references. People are just obsessed. There are millions of people out there with names that were used in books. Authors do not own the sole right to use the names they use in their books.
Reply:Listen, its a good name. But, just in case you haven't realized it yet, it is also the name of the vampire mother in the Twilight Saga. If you still want to, well, i guess that is your choice but I don't think its a good idea to name her after a character from a book. Even if that wasn't you intention.

Else the poor girl will have to spend her whole life spelling it out.
