Are Alyse and Elyse the Same Name With a Different Spelling?

Or is one a form of Alice and the other a form of Elizabeth? Do they each have a different meaning?

Are Alyse and Elyse the Same Name With a Different Spelling?
They are pronounced differently. Alyse is pronounced A LEASE. and Elyse is pronounced E LEASE. But they are basically the same name
Reply:Alyse (AL-lis)- A mispelling of Alice. Alis would be the Welsh form of Alice.

Elyse (uh-LEES) - Form of Elizabeth, but Elise is more appealing.

The two names, although they look similar, are coming from different names, thus having different meanings. I would use Alice or Eliza personally (Alyse and Elyse don't appeal to me whatsoever).
Reply:They are both variations of Elizabeth...

Alyse, Alyssa, Alissa, Elissa, Elyssa, Elyse, Eliza and Elyza, Beth, Bethany, Betty, Liza, Lizzy, Libby, Lizbeth, Elspeth.. there are soo many variations of Elizabeth

then you also have the similar names Alicia, Alycia, Elicia, Elycia.. and Alice is similar...
Reply: they are the same, and pronounced the same(usually)

i like the spelling Elise though
Reply:I suppose they could be however you want to pronounce them. But Alyce is going to typically be pronounced "Alice".

Elise/Elyse is my fav name for a girl.
Reply:Alyse is pronounced more like Alice and Elyse is pronounced like Elise otherwise yes, they are the same name :)
Reply:they are basically the same name

but pronounced differently like

alaina and elaina

AHlease ELease
Reply:I think they are pronounced a little differently.
Reply:When I saw Alyse I pronounced it like Alice in my head. But it could be A-leese, where Elyse is Eh-leese
Reply:I would pronounce them the same. At least that's what I think when I first look at them. Pretty names!
