Legally changing the spelling of your name?

My real name is Alexandra but I want to legally change the spelling of it to Aleksandra.. I still have the same name, but only the spelling of it is changing. Would I still have to go to court and have a hearing date?

Legally changing the spelling of your name?
Yup! And for the rest of your life, on every single job application you will have to check the box that says you have changed your name, and what it used to be... Way too long of a process. your name looks prettier the way it is anyway.
Reply:You can use any spelling you want on anything but official, legal forms. If you sign anything legal, whether a bank account, tax forms, even a will, you will need your name changed legally, in court, which is just a formality, not a big deal.
Reply:To legally change your name you have to file it in court. Your social security card, if you have one, and birth certificate will also have to be changed. You simply pay a fee, explain why you want to change it and fill out some paperwork.
Reply:To legally change it, yes. To informally start spelling it differently without a formal change, no.
Reply:u dont need a hearing in court, just go to city hall
