How can I change the spelling of my sons name?

I don't know why, but when I filled out his BC I spelled it Riyen...could have been because I was on a lot of drugs, but since the second I saw it I didn't like it. How can I go about changing it to just Ryan?

How can I change the spelling of my sons name?
I did the same thing. It was Lylah at first and I want to change it to Lilah. Here in Texas you have to contact the Bureau of Vital Statistics. I think you have to send in like about $40 (I don't remember the exact amount, maybe like 37 something) and they can do it. I think it depends on what state you are in as to what the procedure is. I would google Bureau of Vital Statistic + what state you live in. There you should be able to find the correct information. Good luck and congrats on Ryan/Riyen! =)

Edit: Here in Texas, you have to go to court if you want to change the name completely...not just for a spelling change. Apparently each state varies according to the answer above me....
Reply:I don't know about the States, but in Canada you can change the baby's first name anytime in the first year. Contact your government and see what the rules are where you live.
Reply:You have to take it to court, even if it's just to change the spelling... believe me... I asked cuz they mispelled my son's... the people at the Health District told me when I was picking up my sons bc duplicate
Reply:ohhh, i like riyen!
Reply:It was meant to be, just leave it. It's nice.
Reply:I like that spelling. Search the state info online!

God bless, have a great day!
