I really like this name but not sure which spelling I prefer:

Name spelling for a little girl?
As someone with that name, only spelled Meliya, I like that it is a little different. Malia is the common spelling, but Maleah is really pretty. My spelling gets mispronounced a lot of the time. I have also seen it Maleigha, but that is pretty long. If it were me, I would go with Maleah.
Reply:Well, it depends on how you want it pronounced. Malia sounds like "mal-e-uh" to me, and Maleah sounds like "ma-leah". I personally just like the name Leah, so I don't really like the Maleah, it reminds me of McDonalds. Sorry. I would go with Malia, but like I said, it depends on how you want it pronounced.

One thing you have to remember when you give your child a different so to say name, is there is always going to be a first day of school situation where his or her name is going to get butchered. And for the rest of they're life they are going to have to correct everybody that reads there name on paper.
