I want to make my last name more phonetic. it would take removing two letters. I have no idea how to go about it. Do i contact a lawyer? anyone know?

Reply:When I did mine I went to the Court house. Filled out the paper work, paid $25.00 and they gave me a order to put in the newspaper. It ran 3 weeks and then the Judge granted me my name change. Really easy.
Reply:Contact your County Clerk Office or go to their website to get the forms you need. It's expensive but you don't need a lawyer.
Reply:I've gone down to City Hall and found paperwork. Then I had to explain why I wanted to change my name and go to some court and pay a fee.
Don't know what state you are in, so try calling a legal firm and see if they can point you i the right direction
