What is your preffered spelling of the name a-na-lease ?

There are many ways to spell it , here are a few examples:

Anelise

Annelise

Analise

Annalise

Before anyone answers this , i'm not pregnant , I named my daughter Annalease , who is now 10 months old... and i'm starting to regret the way i spelled her name . Should i legally change the spelling of her name, or should i just leave it ?

I named her on the spot , so i didn't even think of the different spellings at the time .

What is your preffered spelling of the name a-na-lease ?
Anneliese is the correct spelling, as is Annelise (the Danish form of Anneliese). Unless you happen to be German/Dutch and want to use the name to honor your heritage, I actually prefer the simpler Annelise form. ;)

For what it's worth -- and I'm certain it's been mentioned -- I'd avoid the Anal- (shudder) or Annal- (because it still looks like "anal" LOL) spellings by any means necessary! Also, from your title it seems you do pronounce the name correctly, and the Anna- beginning obviously invites the incorrect ANN-a-lees, rather than ah-ne beginning sound, pronunciation).

Annelise really seems your best bet. And my compliments for considering this while she's still young enough for a change to be fairly simple. She'll appreciate it in the long run. ;)

Good luck!
Reply:I don't have any idea what it costs to change a name, but I don't care at all for the "lease" part at the end of her name.

Analise is too much like "We need to analise this problem"......

The other spellings are okay , yet

I do keep going back to "Anelise".

hope this helps......just my own opinion.........
Reply:ANALIESE
Reply:it's a beautiful name, leave it as is, fate wanted her name to be that way, think of it that way
Reply:I'd go with the most common spelling so you dont have to spell it out all the time
Reply:Annaleise

or Analeise
Reply:ive always spelt it annaleise. however websites say annalise and analiese.

if you dont like annalease, change it. she is only 10 months old. remember she will spend the rest of her life spelling it.
Reply:Its such a pretty name, and I agree, a not so pretty spelling. You should absolutely change it if it bothers you. I will bother you for years! I think you should look at the name and know instantly what it is. Its too pretty of a name to struggle with and sound out. Annelise definitely looks like it sounds. And Im partial, my daughters name is Elyse! Why not Annelyse? =) I love your choice! Change it for sure though, the spelling just doesnt do it justice! The longer you wait the harder it will be!
Reply:First of all....I HIGHLY reccommend you dont change her names spelling to analease BECAUSE it spells anal ease(sex ointment)....I prefer Annalise but Annalease is ok.... it might be hard to learn to spell....
Reply:Hello, first I have to say what a lovely name.

What about:

Anallice

Annalice

Analease

Anylyse

Anylyce

Annaliese

or what about taking the beginning and end sounds and thinking about liesel or addrienne? Kids may make fun of the name unfortunately.
Reply:i personaly like Anelise
Reply:I'm not a fan of the spelling either=)

I like

Annalise the best

There's also

Analiese

Annaliese

But now that i typed those, i still like "Annalise" better.

"Analise" is cute too, with one "n"
Reply:my favorite is Annelise.

i would not spend the money to change the spelling of her name, though. it is a very pretty name, and the sound is more important than how it looks.
Reply:Analiese
Reply:I like Annelise best.
Reply:Annalise
Reply:Annalise is the best spelling

No offence but Annalease reminds me of realastate
Reply:Annalise or you could name her Annalisa
Reply:you should just leave it. it doesnt matter the spelling the name is beautiful!
Reply:I think you should do it Annalise.
Reply:Anelise or Annalise. But really, as long as it doesn't start with "anal" it's ok. I think the worst possible spelling would be "Analease"
