Reply:I don't like either spelling. Lorraine is the easiest and best (imo) spelling of the name. I strongly dislike when people replace i's with y's trying to be trendy or different. It's not trendy - it just makes life harder for your child.

Reply:Both spellings are nontraditional. I think it is important for a child to have a name that is spelled traditionally and is a name people have heard of, rather than made up. My name is Gillian and I would often get upset because finding my name on any personalized merchandise was nearly impossible! (I wanted a license plate with my name on it from a popular vacation spot). My cousin, Dara felt the same way. She said when she was younger she wished her name was Dana because it was more common and she could get such personalized items.





If you use that name, please spell it the traditional way, Lorraine. Lorraine is a beautiful region in France and is an even more pretty girl's name.
