if i start spelling my name a different way from shannon m____ to shanyn m____ do you think my teachers will become confused?
If i start spelling my name a different way, will...?
I think they will quickly figure it out but a better question is why you would want to do that? If you use a traditional spelling of the name you avoid a lifetime of people mispronouncing and misspelling your name.
Reply:Oh, lol the additional details came up as soon as i started to answer this, and I was going to say something about the legal process, and that you would have to spell your name in it's original form on all legal or official documents. Which you will probably have to do the whole time up until the legal process is completed.
But, I think your teachers may be a little confused at first. Maybe if you explain to them that you're changing the spelling of your name? That way they'll know exactrly what's going on as soon as they see your papers.
:)
Reply:They will figure it out. My oldest child was adopted in the middle of the school year and she opted to change her name. She was required to use her current legal name until everything was final. Also you will have to offer more Identity proof for the next ten years or longer to obtain a DL or for loan applications.
